AI Communications Lead

Lead the people side of an ambitious AI adoption journey, building a vibrant community and a clear communications rhythm across a fast-moving organisation. This three-month Marseille mission is perfect for a senior storyteller who can turn AI strategy into everyday confidence, curiosity, and adoption.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, has made a bold commitment to AI adoption, not as a distant experiment but as a practical shift in how teams work, decide, and create value. The technology is ready enough to move; the real challenge is human. People need to understand what AI means for their daily work, what they can safely try, where to ask questions, and how to share what they learn. The organisation is launching an AI adoption mission in Marseille and needs a senior community and communications lead to give this change a voice, a rhythm, and a network. For three months, you will operate at the intersection of internal communications, community building, and change enablement. You will turn strategy into stories, stories into conversations, and conversations into adoption. The mission is fast, visible, and highly collaborative: you will work with AI specialists, business leaders, HR, legal, and frontline teams to create a credible and engaging adoption narrative. This is not about broadcasting tool announcements; it is about creating a living community where curiosity is welcomed, questions are safe, and practical wins are celebrated. You will help people move from passive awareness to confident experimentation, and from isolated experiments to shared learning.

ACTIVITIES

  • Design and animate an AI community that connects champions, early adopters, business owners, and curious colleagues across functions and locations.
  • Build a clear communications plan for the AI adoption mission, including key messages, editorial calendars, channel choices, and feedback loops.
  • Create engaging content such as newsletters, intranet articles, FAQs, talking points, video scripts, and practical guides that make AI feel accessible and relevant.
  • Organise and facilitate community events, webinars, office hours, demonstrations, and peer-learning sessions that encourage safe experimentation.
  • Develop a network of AI champions and subject-matter experts, giving them simple tools, recognition, and opportunities to share their experience.
  • Monitor community sentiment, adoption signals, and recurring questions, then translate them into adjustments to the communications and enablement approach.
  • Partner with AI, legal, security, and HR teams to ensure that communications are accurate, responsible, and aligned with governance requirements.
  • Create reusable templates and playbooks so that adoption communications can continue after the mission ends.
  • Support leadership visibility by preparing briefings, success stories, and progress updates that are honest, human, and outcome-focused.
  • Measure the impact of community and communications activities through engagement, participation, sentiment, and practical adoption indicators.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Within three months, the AI adoption mission should have a recognisable voice, a functioning community, and a repeatable rhythm of communication and peer learning. Colleagues should know where to go for guidance, what is expected of them, and how to try AI safely in their own work. The organisation should see increased participation in AI-related activities, more questions being asked, more practical use cases being shared, and stronger confidence among managers and teams. You will also leave behind a lightweight operating model: champions, content templates, event formats, and measurement practices that can be sustained by internal teams. Success will be visible in the quality of conversations, the energy of the community, and the shift from passive interest to active adoption.

ENVIRONMENT

The role operates in a fast-moving change and communications environment, combining internal communications, community management, and AI adoption. You will use collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Slack, intranet and content management tools, email and newsletter platforms, and event or webinar tools. You will work with AI specialists and business stakeholders, using simple analytics and feedback mechanisms to understand engagement and adoption. Methodologically, the environment blends communications planning, change management, community-building practices, and agile iteration. You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity, able to produce high-quality content quickly, and skilled at facilitating both online and in-person conversations. English is essential; French is a strong advantage in Marseille. The pace is intense but creative, with a strong emphasis on practical experimentation, responsible AI use, and authentic storytelling. The team values curiosity, empathy, structure, and the ability to make complex topics feel simple without oversimplifying them.
