Application Architect

A critical legacy application estate requires an expert architect to bring clarity, risk control, and a sustainable evolution path. You will protect service continuity while preparing two strategic systems for future change in a hybrid Brussels mission.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is responsible for operating and evolving critical IT solutions that keep public-facing processes running smoothly. Two strategic applications sit at the heart of this responsibility, carrying years of business knowledge and technical dependencies that must be protected while the organization prepares for future changes. The application architect will join a hybrid mission in Brussels to bring architectural clarity, risk control, and a sustainable evolution plan to this legacy environment, ensuring that service continuity is never left to chance.

ACTIVITIES

  • Analyze, document, and maintain the architecture of two strategic applications.
  • Define a clear application architecture vision and identify dependencies, risks, and sustainability levers.
  • Drive corrective and evolutionary maintenance in collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure service continuity through risk management, documentation, and controlled change planning.
  • Support decision-making around application modernization and long-term maintainability.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

The architect will turn an opaque legacy landscape into a governed and understandable application estate. They will reduce critical dependencies, strengthen service continuity, and provide a realistic roadmap for maintaining and evolving the applications. Their work will help the organization protect essential services while preparing a safer path toward modernization.
