Cybersecurity Engineer
Strengthen the cyber resilience of a sensitive public-sector environment by optimizing load balancing, firewalls, and network security. You will own high-availability infrastructure and continuously improve security maturity in a mission-critical context.
CONTEXT
A sensitive public service is strengthening its cybersecurity maturity and needs a hands-on expert to keep critical networks and applications available, secure, and fast. The existing infrastructure relies on load balancing and firewall technologies that must be optimized with the discipline of a mission-critical environment. This is not a purely theoretical security role: it is about operating, maintaining, and improving the technical controls that stand between daily public services and disruption. The team is looking for someone who can combine deep network security knowledge with a calm, methodical approach to incident prevention and continuous improvement.
ACTIVITIES
- Operate, maintain, and optimize F5 load-balancing infrastructure.
- Configure and tune Fortinet firewalls to enforce security policies without harming performance.
- Monitor network and application availability, performance, and security events.
- Investigate vulnerabilities and propose practical remediation measures.
- Improve high-availability and resilience patterns for critical services.
- Document configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to raise overall maturity.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- Stronger security posture across network and application layers.
- High availability and predictable performance for critical services.
- Fewer operational surprises through better monitoring and documentation.
- Faster, safer response to security and availability incidents.
- A measurable improvement in cybersecurity maturity for a sensitive environment.
ENVIRONMENT
- F5 load balancing and Fortinet firewall technologies.
- Network and security operations for high-availability public services.
- Monitoring, incident management, and infrastructure optimization practices.
- A structured public-sector context with strong requirements for reliability, security, and continuity.
