Database Administrator
Take charge of a critical database platform at the heart of a major digital transformation, ensuring security, reliability, and continuity. You will combine database engineering, automation, and integration work to support data-driven services at scale.
CONTEXT
A major digital and organizational transformation is placing a critical database platform at the center of a data-driven ecosystem. The environment must support sensitive operational services where reliability, security, and continuity are non-negotiable. The organization is looking for an engineer who can own an InterSystems IRIS platform end to end, from daily operations and data modeling to automation and integration. The role is part of a systems division that is modernizing its foundations while keeping essential services running, so the right person will combine deep database expertise with a pragmatic, automation-first mindset.
ACTIVITIES
- Design, manage, and optimize a critical InterSystems IRIS database environment.
- Handle operational database administration, backups, security, and continuity planning.
- Model data and integrate it with surrounding systems and applications.
- Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
- Automate deployments and configuration using GitLab CI/CD and Ansible.
- Support backend development in Python and integrate with other DBMS systems when needed.
- Document architecture, procedures, and operational standards.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- A secure, reliable, and high-performing database platform for critical services.
- Reduced manual effort through automated deployment and configuration workflows.
- Better data integration and modeling that support data-driven services.
- Strong continuity and recovery readiness for a sensitive operational environment.
- A maintainable platform foundation that supports modernization without disruption.
ENVIRONMENT
- InterSystems IRIS, Python backend development, GitLab CI/CD, and Ansible.
- Data modeling, integration, performance tuning, and database security.
- Other DBMS technologies as required by the broader system landscape.
- A transformation-oriented systems division with strong reliability and continuity requirements.
