ACTIVITIES

As an Environmental Permit Advisor, your mission is to be the strategic compass guiding crucial infrastructure projects through the regulatory landscape. You will be responsible for meticulously analyzing project plans to proactively identify all relevant permit requirements, including those related to environmental impact, urban development, nature protection, and archaeological considerations. Your role involves providing solution-oriented advice to project teams, helping them mitigate potential permit-related risks and optimize their approach to ensure compliance. You will meticulously prepare and manage comprehensive permit applications, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compelling. A significant part of your work will involve active communication and negotiation with various stakeholders, including local, regional, and national government authorities, environmental agencies, and community groups, acting as the primary liaison to facilitate smooth approval processes. You will also monitor changes in legislation and advise on their implications, keeping the organization ahead of regulatory curves.

You will work within a highly professional and collaborative Legal Framework department, interacting regularly with project managers, engineers, environmental specialists, and external legal counsel. The operational environment demands a deep understanding of Belgian and European environmental legislation, urban planning codes, and nature conservation directives. You will utilize a combination of internal knowledge management systems, legal databases, and project management tools. Proficiency in Dutch and French (and possibly English) is often crucial for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
