Platform Engineer

Join a platform engineering team to turn fragmented services and APIs into secure, reusable golden paths on an enterprise internal developer platform. You will design composed self-service capabilities that make software delivery faster, safer, and observable.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is building an enterprise Internal Developer Platform to industrialize the software development lifecycle. The platform is not just a catalog of tools; it is the productized path from idea to production, where teams should be able to compose approved services, discover APIs, and ship changes through governed, automated workflows. The mission is to help turn a complex landscape of unit services into coherent end-to-end capabilities that feel simple to product teams, while remaining secure, observable, and compliant. You will join a cross-functional platform group acting as an internal product team, translating platform strategy into reusable service compositions and self-service golden paths.

ACTIVITIES

  • Design and build end-to-end composed services by combining unit services, APIs, and platform capabilities into reusable offerings.
  • Integrate those compositions into the internal developer platform as secure, observable, and governed golden paths.
  • Define service contracts, dependencies, and composition patterns that application teams can consume through self-service.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers, API owners, security teams, and product teams to validate usability and operational readiness.
  • Document service composition standards and support the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor adoption, gather feedback, and evolve composed services to reduce cognitive load and manual hand-offs.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Deliver a set of production-ready composed services that become the default building blocks for internal teams.
  • Reduce lead time and operational risk by making secure, observable paths the easiest option rather than an afterthought.
  • Establish reusable composition patterns and documentation that scale beyond the initial mission.
  • Improve platform adoption by demonstrating tangible self-service value to engineering teams.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Enterprise Internal Developer Platform, service catalogs, API gateways, and reusable golden-path templates.
  • Automated SDLC tooling, CI/CD pipelines, governance controls, observability, and security-by-design practices.
  • Collaborative product-team model with platform engineering, architecture, security, and application teams.
  • Documentation-as-code, service contracts, and continuous feedback loops.
