Program Manager

A major digital transformation programme needs a senior program manager to modernise complex business processes and keep business and technology aligned. The mission is to bring governance, funding discipline and stakeholder coordination to a multi-year change that will reshape how services are managed.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is embarking on a digital transformation that reaches far beyond a simple system upgrade. Legacy processes, distributed stakeholders and a strong public mission have created a landscape where change must be coordinated carefully, funded credibly and explained clearly. The programme aims to modernise how heritage management processes are organised, but the real work is about creating consistency between business priorities, technology choices and governance rhythms. The Senior Business Program Manager will act as the programme's anchor, keeping multiple internal and external stakeholders moving in the same direction while ensuring that each initiative contributes to a coherent, sustainable transformation.

ACTIVITIES

  • Lead the digital transformation programme and maintain a clear, credible programme roadmap.
  • Ensure consistency across projects, workstreams and business initiatives so that decisions do not pull the organisation in different directions.
  • Align business strategy with technology delivery, translating needs into priorities, governance decisions and funded plans.
  • Manage programme governance, steering committees, reporting, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders, creating clarity on roles, expectations and decision paths.
  • Follow funding, budget and business case assumptions, ensuring that the programme remains financially and strategically sound.
  • Support change management and adoption so that modernised processes are actually used and embedded.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

The organisation should gain a transformation programme that is visible, governable and connected to real business outcomes. Stakeholders should have a shared view of priorities, funding, risks and milestones, while delivery teams should feel that business decisions are made in time and with enough clarity. Success will be measured by stronger programme consistency, better business and technology alignment, credible governance, controlled funding and a modernised set of processes that people can adopt with confidence.

ENVIRONMENT

A programme management environment combining digital transformation, business process modernisation, governance and stakeholder coordination. Methods may include programme and portfolio management, PMO practices, roadmap planning, risk and issue management, business case follow-up, steering committee reporting and hybrid agile delivery. Tools may include Jira, Confluence, Power BI, SharePoint, portfolio dashboards and structured governance templates. The culture values diplomacy, rigour, strategic thinking and the ability to turn complexity into a clear plan.
