Project Manager

Lead two strategic digital-payments initiatives that will reshape acquiring, PSP services, and PCI-DSS compliance. This role combines vendor and market preparation, implementation leadership, and long-term certification discipline in an agile environment.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is modernising a payment ecosystem that sits at the intersection of customer experience, financial operations, and regulatory trust. Two strategic initiatives are moving in parallel: renewing acquiring and payment-service-provider capabilities, and achieving PCI-DSS certification that will support future annual compliance cycles. The Project Manager will own the rhythm and coherence of both streams, bringing business stakeholders, payment specialists, vendors, security teams, and compliance experts into one clear delivery path. This is a role for someone who can translate complex payment requirements into a market-ready approach, then carry that approach through implementation without losing sight of auditability, customer impact, or operational resilience.

ACTIVITIES

  • Lead requirements definition, scope shaping, and business alignment for acquiring and PSP renewal.
  • Prepare market engagement, vendor evaluation, and implementation planning in collaboration with procurement and payment experts.
  • Drive the PCI-DSS certification programme, coordinating evidence, remediation, controls, and stakeholder accountability.
  • Build and maintain integrated plans, risks, dependencies, and decision logs across both initiatives.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and cross-functional workshops with business, IT, security, compliance, and external partners.
  • Establish a repeatable compliance operating model that supports future annual PCI-DSS certifications.
  • Communicate progress clearly to sponsors and senior stakeholders, escalating blockers with options and recommendations.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • A renewed acquiring and PSP landscape that is fit for current and future payment needs.
  • Successful PCI-DSS certification, backed by a sustainable compliance model rather than a one-off audit sprint.
  • Reduced delivery risk through clear governance, realistic planning, and early resolution of cross-stream dependencies.
  • Confident stakeholders who understand trade-offs, timelines, and the operational impact of each decision.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Digital payments concepts including acquiring, PSP services, payment flows, and PCI-DSS controls.
  • Agile delivery methods, integrated planning, risk management, and stakeholder governance.
  • Collaboration with vendors, security teams, compliance specialists, and business owners.
  • Enterprise tooling for project planning, documentation, reporting, and audit evidence management.
