Senior Project Manager
This role leads strategic platform engineering programmes that cut across security, public cloud, CI/CD and service portfolio management. You will bring coherence and momentum to complex multi-team initiatives where technical decisions and business priorities must move together.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, has placed platform engineering at the centre of its operating model. The division is not simply running infrastructure; it is building the shared foundations that allow autonomous business units to deliver faster while staying aligned on security, cloud adoption and continuous delivery. Several strategic programmes are now running in parallel, each touching multiple technical teams, service owners and architects. The Senior Project Manager will become the connective tissue across these efforts, making progress visible, resolving dependencies and turning a portfolio of ambitious intentions into a coordinated sequence of outcomes.
ACTIVITIES
- Pilot strategic projects and programmes across multiple platform engineering teams, service managers and architects.
- Ensure coherence between technical initiatives and the division priorities, clarifying scope, dependencies and decision points.
- Coordinate technical teams, service owners and architects to align roadmaps and maintain a shared view of progress.
- Support key streams such as platform security, public cloud adoption, CI/CD programme leadership and business unit autonomy.
- Contribute to platform service portfolio management by making the offer visible, structured and understandable.
- Track risks, issues, milestones and dependencies, and communicate progress clearly to leadership and delivery teams.
- Facilitate governance rituals, workshops and cross-team planning moments that keep complex programmes moving.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
The Senior Project Manager will transform a set of parallel technical programmes into a readable, governed and outcome-oriented portfolio. Success means clearer alignment between platform teams, stronger visibility for leadership, faster resolution of cross-team blockers and better adoption of shared engineering services. The role will also help business units operate with more autonomy while remaining safe, secure and consistent with division priorities.
ENVIRONMENT
The environment combines platform engineering, public cloud adoption, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, platform security and service portfolio management. The Project Manager will work with technical teams, architects and service managers using structured project management methods, governance rituals, risk logs, roadmaps and communication plans. A general understanding of cloud environments, DevOps culture and infrastructure concepts is essential to challenge and connect technical discussions.
