Test Automation Engineer
Take senior ownership of test automation for a critical software ecosystem that demands trust, speed, and repeatable quality. You will build Playwright-based foundations, strengthen API and end-to-end coverage, and leave teams with a more mature quality process.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, is strengthening quality engineering across a critical software ecosystem where reliability and trust are non-negotiable. The organization is moving from manual-heavy validation toward a mature automation practice that covers functional and non-functional risks, end-to-end journeys, and API layers. The mission is to bring senior technical depth to a compact, high-impact engagement: set up the right automation foundations, prove them on real scenarios, and leave teams with a repeatable quality process. You will work in an agile environment where test strategy is not a gate at the end but a continuous discipline woven into delivery.
ACTIVITIES
- Design and implement automation frameworks and test scripts, with Playwright as a key UI automation tool.
- Cover functional, non-functional, end-to-end, UI, API, and integration testing needs.
- Execute test scenarios, analyze results, track defects, and manage test plans through their lifecycle.
- Improve testing processes by introducing pragmatic automation standards and reusable assets.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product stakeholders in an Agile delivery model.
- Validate REST and web flows, including proxy service behavior, to surface risks early.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- Deliver a working automation foundation that the team can extend after the initial engagement.
- Increase confidence in releases through repeatable end-to-end and API test coverage.
- Reduce manual regression effort and improve defect detection speed.
- Leave clear documentation, test plans, and process improvements that make quality measurable.
ENVIRONMENT
- Playwright, Java, web applications, REST APIs, and proxy service testing.
- Agile/Scrum delivery, test management, defect tracking, and CI-friendly automation practices.
- Functional and non-functional testing techniques, end-to-end scenario design, and process improvement.
- Collaborative quality engineering culture focused on fast feedback and continuous learning.
